Nomination Process

Nominations are open to all women lawyers, legal practitioners, in-house counsel, candidate attorneys, final year law students, academia, NGO's, legal advisors in business and law firms practising in South Africa.

Nominations open 1st March 2019 and close at noon on the 30th of April 2019.

All nominations must be emailed to wozaawards@gmail.com 

LAW FIRM, INDIVIDUAL, GOVERNMENT AND PINNACLE NOMINATIONS

  • All nominations submitted shall include the following three documents:

  • The nomination form: which must specify the award category, Province and be duly signed;

    • once by the nominator if the candidate is nominating herself; 
       

    • third party nominations must be signed by the nominator and must be accepted by the nominee; 
       

  • A cover letter motivating why the candidate is eligible for the award, limited to an A4 page;
     

  • An abridged curriculum vitae. The nominee shall outline all experience and achievements relevant to the category demonstrating why she/the firm is the best candidate for the award, and only post qualifications required, limited to two A4 pages.

Notes

  • A candidate may nominate herself.

  • Nominations are restricted to two category nominations per candidate.

  • Nominators who are nominating in multiple categories must complete a separate nomination form for each category and provide separate copies of the curriculum vitae and letters of motivation for each category.

Candidate Attorney

  • All nominations must be submitted by the candidate attorney’s employer/ centre and shall include the following three documents:

  • The nomination form: which must specify the award category, Province and be duly signed by the nominator and must be accepted by the nominee; 

  • A cover letter motivating why the candidate attorney is eligible for the award, limited to an A4 page;

  • An abridged curriculum vitae outlining all experience and achievements relevant to the category demonstrating why she is the best candidate for the award, limited to one A4 page.

Notes

Employers are only allowed to nominate one candidate attorney per law firm / centre per category.

No self Nominations are permitted.

Law student award

  • Nominations must be submitted by Dean / Head of the law faculty and shall include the following three documents:
     

  • The nomination form: which must specify the award category, Province and be duly signed by the nominator and must be accepted by the nominee; 
     

  • A cover letter motivating why the law student is eligible for the award, limited to an A4 page;
     

  • An abridged curriculum vitae outlining all experience and achievements relevant to the category demonstrating why she is the best candidate for the award, limited to one A4 page.

Notes

Nominations are restricted to one final year law student being nominated per category.

No self Nominations are permitted.
